OXIDATION DECOMPOSITION METHOD AND OXIDATION DECOMPOSITION EQUIPMENT OF ORGANIC SUBSTANCE USING HYDROXYL RADICAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly oxidation decompose an organic material. SOLUTION: A stainless steel plate 2 deposited with the organic material (polluting material) and a counter electrode 5 are inserted into an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution 4 in which a salt is dissolved. A negative voltage is applied to the stainless steel late 2 and a positive voltage to the counter electrode 6 by a battery 7 of 1 to 2 V in electromotive force. Hydroxyl radicals are then generated only in the region near the surface of the stainless steel plate 2. The organic material deposited thus far on the stainless steel plate 2 is rapidly and surely oxidation decomposed by the hydroxyl radicals. Namely, the hydroxyl radical are generated only in the part where the organic material exists and the efficiently oxidation decomposition is made possible.
