PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of bonding of an elastic body and a friction member, and prevent that a motor cannot be driven by a method wherein concentration of thermal stress on an outer diameter side is relieved, by forming a step-difference or a taper in an outer diameter of a bonding surface of the elastic body and the friction member and increasing the thickness of a bonding layer of the outer diameter side. SOLUTION: This vibration wave motor is provided with an electrical- mechanical energy transducer, a vibrator constituted of the elastic body 91 and the friction member 9b, and a transfer element which is pressed against the vibrator and driven in a prescribed direction. The friction member and the elastic body are joined together by bonding. The thickness of the bonding layer 31a is made uneven in the whole region. |
