PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for processing a translucent image, which shorten the time for reading ofαvalue data from a frame buffer and suppresses reduction of the amount of display image data, when image data are processed for translucence. SOLUTION: The image data andαvalue data are stored in a frame buffer memory 8, andα-blending processing circuits 5a and 6a are built in a Bitblt macro circuit 5 and a Display macro circuit 6. Those twoα-blending processing circuits 5a and 6a are switched and used, depending on whether the display image data are of moving images or static images. When the display data are of moving images, theα-blending processing circuit 6a is used and when the data are static images, theα-blending processing circuit 5a is used. This switching control is performed with an instruction from a CPU. |
