PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery by which production cost can be reduced by disusing heat-welding of a cover 3 to an opening part of a battery jar 2 so as to simplify a structure of the cover 3 and so on and by reducing the number of parts. SOLUTION: The battery is so structured that the cover 3 is engaged with an upper end opening part of the battery jar 2 having an exhaust hole 2c, and a ring valve 8 is externally fitted into an outer peripheral surface 2a, 3b of an adjacent part of the engagement.
