PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal that allows a user to pleasantly enjoy a hands-free function and can excellently ensure the sensitivity in a call waiting state by fixing the terminal body on a smooth face and without being conscious of its falling. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal is provided with a base section 2 having a sucking section 6 provided with a sucker structure and freely turnably mounted onto the terminal body 1. The base section 2 is provided with a self- posture recognition section 4 that recognizes the posture of the terminal body and allows a display control section to automatically set a display direction of a display section 7 in a prescribed direction corresponding to the posture. Thus, the terminal body can be stood on a face in a fixed form without the need for the user to care about more or less distortion or tilt of a smooth face and set the display section 7 to take an easy to see angle corresponding to the state of the terminal body 1.
