PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a house having a living room equipped with an earthen floor, which can produce a semi-open-air atmosphere, imparts visual variation to the living room being prone to monotony, and is available for diversified purposes. SOLUTION: According to the house, the living-dining room 10 and a kitchen 15 face to a garden 4, and the earthen floor 16 is formed on the south side of the living-dining room 10 and the kitchen 15, so as to have the same height as the floor height of the living-dining room 10. Further, a dirt-sweeping opening 17 is formed in a wall between the earthen floor 16 and the garden 4. Then, an eastern portion of the earthen floor 16 on a first story is inward recessed to form a terrace 18, and a dirt-sweeping opening 19 is formed in a wall between the earthen floor 16 and the terrace 18.
