PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UV absorbing device which can absorb UV rays in the incident light to decrease the quantity of UV rays in the transmitted light and which has high heat dissipativity and excellent safeness, and to provide an optical device which uses the device. SOLUTION: The UV absorbing device has a light-transmitting UV absorbing glass sheet 1 containing a UV absorbing substance, light-transmitting heat- resistant glass sheets disposed opposing the faces of the UV absorbing glass sheet 1, and heat-resistant resin members 6, 7 disposed near the outer edge of the UV absorbing glass sheet 1 and interposed between the glass sheet 1 and heat-resistant glass sheets 2, 3 to form spaces 4, 5 between the UV absorbing glass sheet 1 and heat-resistant glass plates 2, 3, respectively. |
