METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUEDE-LIKE ARTIFICIAL LEATHER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably produce a suede-like artificial leather having various physical properties suitable for applications and having the surface to which an optional pattern exhibiting solid effects is imparted without deteriorating a posh appearance, a soft touch and a feeling specific to the suede-like artificial leather composed of a micro fiber at a relatively low cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing the suede-like artificial leather comprises carrying out gravure coating of at least one side of a substrate of the artificial leather composed of the micro fiber having <=0.5 dtex thickness and an elastic polymer with a solvent swelling and dissolving only the elastic polymer without dissolving the micro fiber by using a gravure roll in which a part having large depth of engraving and a part having small depth thereof are arranged on the surface so as to show an optional pattern, then carrying out napping processing of the coated surface of the substrate to make a napped surface having difference in length and density of the nap according to the pattern on the surface of the gravure roll and then dyeing and finishing.
