PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water hammer preventing device for moderating the impact of water hammer generated in a water pipe line with a simple structure and inexpensive equipment cost. SOLUTION: This water hammer preventing device for preventing the water hammer generated in the water pipe line 4 for feeding water by a pump comprises an air inflow device 10 provided in the water pipe line 4 to which air runs when the internal pressure of the water pipe line is negative, and a place (protruding conduit part 4a) for collecting the air run through the air inflow device 10 by the negative pressure caused in the water pipe line 4 by the change of water flow quantity according to the starting/stopping of the pump or the opening and closing of a feed valve until at least the pressure fluctuation generated in the water pipe line 4 is damped and converged to some degree. |
