PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recorder that enables a user to confirm the contents of a recording disk dubbed to a magnetic tape, without the need for reproducing the magnetic tape and enables the user to recognize video recording contents only through reproduction of a head part of the tape, even when the tape is reproduced. SOLUTION: A system microcomputer dubs a television program selected by the user among television programs recorded on a hard disk onto a video tape. Here, the system microcomputer extracts and forms title information, such as a title and a broadcast channel with respect to the television program dubbed onto the video tape among EPG(electronic program guide) items having once been stored in a RAM, stores the title information to a prescribed address area, that is a preset title information storage area in the hard disk, together with a tape umber assigned in advance to the video tape which is dubbing destination and also records the title information to the head part of the video tape.
