PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly correct defective pixel data caused by a pixel defect of an imaging device without being affected by the image pickup object. SOLUTION: A pixel defect correction device receives pixel data from the imaging device having plural photoelectric conversion pixels to properly correct defective pixel data caused by the pixel defect of this imaging device. This pixel defect correction device is provided with a first correlation detection part 34 which detects a correlation value of pixel data of two pixels proximate to the defective pixel in a first direction, a second correlation detection part 35 which detects a correlation value of pixel data of two pixels proximate to the defective pixel in a second direction different from the first direction, and a correlation discrimination part 36 which compares a correlation value 50 outputted from the first correlation detection part and a correlation value 51 outputted from the second correlation detection part with each other. A defective pixel substitution part 37 generates data for substitution of the defective pixel on the basis of the comparison result from the correlation discrimination part 36.
