PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckling restraining brace being structurally simple and excellent in productivity and constructibility while allowing reductions in weight and cost. SOLUTION: The buckling restraining brace 10 comprises a core 12 inserted into a stiffening member 11 and a plurality of spacers 13, 13 and so forth each made of a metallic extrusion molding and intervening between the stiffening member 11 and the core 12. The spacers 13, 13 and so forth are secured to the core 12 as they are axially spaced apart from one another. Thus, the brace can be fabricated and assembled by dry method, and since shrinkage allowances L, L and so forth are dispersed, it is possible to prevent buckling of the core at the shrinkage allowances L, L and so forth without use of reinforcements and the like.
