PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repellent that has high safety to human, domestic animals and environment and is superior to conventional repellents in the smell free from unpleasant odor, particularly suitable for repelling harmful birds, for example, crows, doves and the like and harmful animals, for examples, cats, rats and the like. SOLUTION: This animal repellent includes at least one selected from Rhubafuran (2,4-dimethyl-4-phenyl tetrahydrofuran), Cinnamyl nitrile (trans-5- phenyl acrylonitrile) and Vertacetal (acetaldehyde 2-phenyl-2,4-pentanediol acetal).
