Vehicle seat component is made by positioning front and back layers of covering material against inner surfaces of two halves of a mould and injecting two layers of foam of different hardness to create component's padding. The front and back covering layers are of a textile material, with the front layer shaped to provide the aspect of one or more seams and the rear covering layer equipped with a pre-formed, thermformed or premoulded polymer shell. A motor vehicle seat component (2) is made by positioning front (11) and back (7) layers of covering material against the inner surfaces of two halves (4, 3) of a mould and injecting two layers of foam (15, 16) of different hardness to create the component's padding when expanded. The front and back covering layers are of a textile material, with the front layer shaped to provide the aspect of one or more seams (13) and the rear covering layer equipped with a pre-formed, thermformed or premoulded polymer shell. The layer of foam against the front covering layer is softer than the layer of foam against the back covering layer, which has viscoelastic properties for attenuating vibrations. |
