<p>The invention concerns a method for adjusting a continuous casting installation roll segment, which segment has an input side (6), an output side (7) and a pair of roll supports (1, 2) bearing respectively at least two rolls (3) extending above a support zone (4). The roll supports (1, 2) are mutually adjusted by means of an adjusting unit arranged on the segment input side (6) and an adjusting unit arranged on the segment output side (7), each adjusting unit comprising two hydraulic jack assemblies (8 to 11) arranged on each side of the support zone (4). The invention is characterised in that the hydraulic cylinder assemblies (8 to 11) are adjustable both by position adjusting and by pressure adjusting, and the rolls (3) are adjusted, via the hydraulic cylinder assemblies (8 to 11), by position adjusting on a metal string (5) guided by said rolls (3), and the hydraulic cylinder assemblies (8 to 11) shift from position adjusting mode to pressure adjusting mode when the pressure in the respective hydraulic cylinder assemblies (8 to 11) reaches a threshold value.</p> |
