PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high pressure air cylinder suitable for a raised bottom type track that enables high speed driving with a short stroke. SOLUTION: This high pressure air cylinder has a cylinder main body 12 capable of introducing high pressure air, a piston 14 slidably arranged in the cylinder main body 12 and driven by the high pressure air, and a piston rod 16 united by the piston 14, projecting from the cylinder main body 12, and driven to move forward/backward. The cylinder main body 12 is provided with a high speed exhaust port 28 for high speed driving the piston 14, and a cushion exhaust port for absorbing the inertial force of the piston 14 near a stroke end. The piston 14 is provided with a poppet 48 for blocking the high speed exhaust port 28 near the stroke end in such a way as to be energized in a direction projecting to the high speed exhaust port 28 side by a spring 44 and stored in a spring chamber 46 formed on the piston 14 after blocking the high speed exhaust port 28.
