PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for controlling brightness of an emissive display. SOLUTION: Brightness of display is increased or decreased corresponding to decrease or increase in the brightness of ambient environment. Furthermore, function concerning timing of brightness control is also implemented to control subtle aspects in a brightness control system. Specifically, the time interval between brightness control of one display and brightness control of the next display is at least partially determined the difference in magnitude between desired display brightness, based on the ambient lighting environment brightness and the actual display brightness.
