PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method, manufacturing apparatus, etc., capable of forming glass gobs in a contactless state without bringing molten glass drops and the glass heated to its softening point or above into contact with another objects (for example, formed containers). SOLUTION: The glass gob manufacturing apparatus for manufacturing the glass gobs by forming the glass 1 to be formed (for example, the glass in a molten state) in a floating state is equipped with an gaseous current generating section (for example, gas heating and supplying system 2) for generating the gaseous current to float the glass 1 to be formed to a prescribed floating position and acoustic wave generating sections (for example, triaxial sound sources 5) for applying acoustic pressure to the glass 1 to be formed which exists in the floating position.
