PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an electronic device that can relieve a load on a user in the case of installing a software program to realize connection an electronic device for connection destination to an electronic device of a connection source. SOLUTION: When a software program can establish connection between the connection source electronic device and the connection destination electronic device, and the connection destination electronic device cannot transfer the software program to realize the connection suitable for the electronic device to the connection source electronic device, the connection destination electronic device accesses a software server via a communication unit and a mobile communication network and allows the software server to transfer the software to the connection source electronic device. Furthermore, when direct connection cannot be established between the connection source electronic device and the connection destination electronic device and indirect connection can be established and the connection destination electronic device can transfer the software program to the connection source electronic device, the connection destination electronic device indirectly transfers the software program to the connection source electronic device.
