PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a high strength steel sheet for 3-piece can with superior formability is provided, in which by containing a large amount of fixed carbon in steel during continuous annealing process, drawability can be improved. CONSTITUTION: The method includes the steps of hot rolling a steel slab comprising C 0.010-0.07 wt.%, Si 0.05 wt.% or less, Mn 0.1-0.6 wt.%, P 0.04 wt.% or less, S 0.04 wt.% or less, Al 0.02-0.1 wt.%, N 0.004 wt.% or less, Nb 0.005-0.10 wt.%, a balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities; finish rolling the steel sheet at a temperature higher than Ar3 transformation temperature; coiling the finish rolled steel sheet in the temperature range of 670 to 730°C followed by pickling; first cold rolling the pickled steel sheet at a reduction ratio of higher than 85% followed by annealing for recrystallization; and second cold rolling at a reduction ratio of 15 to 35%. The steel sheet after second cold rolling has a thickness of less than 0.17mm.
