PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas recirculating device for preventing the clogging of a recirculation passage while maintaining exhaust gas recirculating effect. SOLUTION: The exhaust gas recirculating device comprises a recirculation passage 7 for recirculating exhaust gas from an engine 2 to the intake side of the engine 2 and an EGR cooler 8 provided on the way of the recirculation passage 7 for cooling the exhaust gas distributing in the recirculation passage 7. When the cooling performance of the EGR cooler 8 is lowered, the temperature of the exhaust gas is raised up to a predetermined temperature. Soot or the like deposited on the inner wall of the recirculation passage 7 is burnt as the temperature of the exhaust gas is raised. Thus, the lowering of the cooling performance of the EGR cooler 8 and the clogging of the recirculation passage 7 are prevented. |
