PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device by which the amount of residual toner is detected by the integrated value of the number of picture elements of a recorded image and the integrated value of the number of picture elements is cleared when a toner unit is replaced. SOLUTION: This image forming device possesses a means to count the number of picture elements of the recorded image, a means to record the integrated value of the number of picture elements counted and a toner unit replacement detecting means to detect that the toner unit is replaced. The replacement of the toner unit is detected by the toner unit replacement detecting means based on information from a means (an initial state discriminating part) to detect the initial state of a loaded toner unit or a means (a residual toner amount detecting part) to detect the residual toner amount of the loaded toner unit. The integrated value of the number of picture elements is cleared when the replacement of the toner unit is detected in the image forming device. |
