PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflector capable of efficiently providing uniform ultraviolet radiation over a wide area without interfering with the optimum size of a microwave chamber or adversely affecting the operation characteristic of a plasma bulb. SOLUTION: This reflector is used for an ultraviolet or other lamp system having the plasma bulb. The reflector has one or more reflecting panels having an elongatively extending characteristic shape, effectively reflects the ultraviolet radiation radiated from the bulb, and brings about uniform irradiation over a relatively wide surface of a board. The main part of each reflecting panel has the characteristic shape expressed by an expression of (x/a)(2+n)+(y/ b)(2+m)=1, where (a) and (b) are each a constant, (n) and (m) are each an index smaller than nearly two and larger than 0, and at least one of (n) and (m) is larger than 0.
