PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding device capable of using a portable telephone terminal with a camera for remote monitoring, simple in configuration and high in practicality. SOLUTION: The holding device is provided with a storage part 11 in which the portable telephone terminal with the camera is freely attachably and detachably stored, a pedestal 12 which supports this storage part so that it can be longitudinally inclined and can be turned in the horizontal direction, an attitude control mechanism which is built in this pedestal to control the inclined attitude and the turning position of the storage part, a zoom lens device 13 which is attached to the storage part to vary the angle of view of image pickup of the camera, and a controller 20 which detects a dial tone signal obtained from the portable telephone terminal with the camera and controls operations of the attitude control mechanism and the zoom lens device in accordance with the dial tone signal.
