PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic positive temperature coefficient thermistor element that has a low specific resistance and can suppress resistance value fluctuations due to oxidation and deformation. SOLUTION: This organic positive temperature coefficient thermistor element 10 contains a plat-like elemental body 12. The body 12 is formed of a material prepared, by mixing conductive powder composed of nickel powder treated for oxidation prevention with a titanate-based coupling agent, in a matrix composed of a mixed resin of a high-density polyethylene resin and polyvinylidene fluoride. A film of a thermosetting resin 16, such as epoxy resin, etc., is formed not only on the side faces of the elemental body 12, but also on the end sections of electrodes 14 and 14 formed on both main surfaces of the body 12.
