PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head loading device for pressing and stabilizing large type and miniaturized head portion. SOLUTION: The disk characteristic evaluation device is provided with a magnetic head 15 in the tip of a suspension 43 which is freely attachable to and detachable from a head clamp 27, and the head clamp 27 is provided so as to position the magnetic head 15 on a magnetic disk. A projection 47 is provided in the tip of the suspension 43. A head loading device 59 includes a wire base 61 provided in the tip of the head clamp 27 so as to be freely moved back and forth and, on this wire base 61, two wire supporting members 69 are protruded upward and downward through a space for inserting the projection 47. A wire 71 is provided to be tense nearly in a horizontal direction between the two wire supporting embers 69, the projection 47 is surely pressed in a prescribed position upward and downward, and thus the head clamp 27 is set in a stable state.
