PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of solving problems such as the deterioration of image quality due to toner sticking to an image carrier while an intermediate transfer body is idly rotated, and the increase of toner consumption due to the waste of the toner. SOLUTION: As for a copying machine for forming a full color image in order of Bk, Y, C and M, in the case of developing with three colors, Bk, C and M, the intermediate transfer belt is idly rotated ready for a C developing process after finishing a Bk-developing process. In the midst of the idle rotation of the belt, the developing unit is switched to a C developing unit, then the C developing unit is stopped ahead of a developing position (22.5 deg.). The C toner is prevented from sticking to the photoreceptor drum in the midst of the idle rotation. Thereafter, the C developing unit is moved to the developing position at a prescribed timing before the leading end of a C latent image reaches the developing position. |
