PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric optical device which indicates both of applying position of seal material and attaching position of polarizing plate without securing a wide region as a region for marking. SOLUTION: A mark 100 is formed on an element substrate which constitutes a liquid crystal device by utilizing a fabrication process of an active element. The mark 100 comprises a pair of L-shaped patterns 120, 130 which stands with a prescribed gap 110, the gap 110 between L-shaped patterns 120, 130 is utilized as a first indicating part 111 which indicates the applying position of the seal material 6 and the outer marginal part of outer L-shaped pattern 130 is utilized as a second indicating part 131 which indicates the attaching position of the polarizing plates 12a, 12b.
