PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for a magnetic recording medium, capable of being sufficiently used as a supporter for the magnetic recording medium, especially the magnetic recording medium having very thin magnetic layer such as the one with <=1.0μm thickness, and having the smooth surface having excellent traveling properties and durability. SOLUTION: This polyester film comprising (A) a polyester and (B) a polyetherimide is characterized in that the film contains 0.1-300 ppm at least one kind selected from polysiloxanes.
