PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differentiation response light receiving element which can detect the dynamic information of light and can identify the color informa tion, a differentiation response image sensor comprising it, a composite light receiving element which can detect the color information simultaneously with the static and dynamic information of light, and an image sensor comprising it. SOLUTION: The differentiation response light receiving element comprises a semiconductor electrode including a photosensitive layer containing a semiconductor sensitized by pigment and a conductive layer, an ion conductive electrolyte layer, and a counter electrode. The element outputs a time differentiation light response current corresponding to variation in the quantity of light. A composite light receiving element comprises a combination of a differentiation response light receiving element and a steady response light receiving element. The image sensor comprises a plurality of pixels each having a differentiation response light receiving element or a steady response light receiving element as a unit.
