PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of cerebral embolism enabling the treatment of cerebral embolism without causing intracranial hemorrhage and enabling bolus administration in place of continuous intravenous infusion. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition contains an active amount of a modified tissue plasminogen activator having the amino acid sequence of human tissue plasminogen activator provided that the 92nd to 173rd amino acid residues are deleted and the 275th arginine residue is substituted with glutamic acid residue and a pharmacologically permissible additive.
