1. A facing element for reinforced soil structures comprising:
a first facing sub-element comprising at least one connecting member configured to connect at least one reinforcement member to said first facing sub-element, a second facing sub-element, and a linking device, wherein said first and second facing sub-elements are separated by a gap and are linked together by the linking device such that the first and second facing sub-elements have constant relative position with respect to each other, and wherein the gap is filled with a material having a compressibility such that the overall compressive strain capacity of the facing element in at least one direction is comprised between 0.5% and 20%. |
