PURPOSE: A slide type sun visor for an automobile is provided to operate the sun visor smoothly, to reduce weight of the sun visor, to keep a rotated condition at a predetermined angle, and to improve durability. CONSTITUTION: A slide type sun visor for an automobile includes a bracket(20), a slide bracket(30), a stay(40), a plate spring(31), and a spring jaw(32). The bracket has slide rails(21,22) formed on upper and lower portions. The slide bracket is inserted into the bracket. The stay is inserted into the slide bracket. The plate spring is inserted between the slide bracket and the stay. The spring jaw is formed on a lower portion of the slide bracket. A rib(23) is formed on the lower portion of the bracket to increase adhesive force with a foam.
