<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erroneous detection of a magazine position in a cluster type magnetic tape device. SOLUTION: A positioning hole 3 provided with a horizontal through-hole having opening in both sides is provided in a position corresponding to a shelf 11 for storing a magnetic tape cartridge on the backside of a magazine 20. On an auto-cartridge loader part 7 for moving the magazine 20 up and down, a photo-interrupter 21 is provided so as to detect the positioning hole 3 corresponding to the shelf 11 when the shelf 11 is in a loader position for carrying the magnetic tape cartridge between itself and the deck part of a magnetic tape device to the shelf 11. The photo-interrupter 21 is provided with a photodetector for receiving a light emitted from a light emission part 4, and fixed to the auto-cartridge loader 7. The magazine 20 is stopped when the photo- interrupter 21 detects the positioning hole 3 corresponding to the object shelf 11.</p> |
