PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound gas insulated switch gear that is capable of securing excellent mechanical strength without increasing the dimensions of a supporting and insulating structure and that lowers cost and improves reliability while maintaining small size and light weight even when the insulating structure that stores the breaking part is positioned at one side of the supporting and insulating structure. SOLUTION: A reinforcing supporting and insulating structure 14 constituted in solid is mounted to a metal container 7 in addition to a supporting and insulating structure 8. The reinforcing supporting and insulating structure 14, which is on a plane that includes the center lines of the breaking part 1 and the supporting and insulating structure 8, is arranged below the breaking part 1.
