ANTIFOULING COATING COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifouling coating composition that can manifest antifouling performance for a long period of time, as the elution rate of the coating layer is made controllable without deterioration of the paint properties and the coated layer properties even after long-term storage. SOLUTION: The objective antifouling composition includes (A) a resin for forming coating layers and (B) a copper-based antifouling agent in which the coating layer-forming resin (A) bears carboxyl groups and acetoacetoxy groups and has the metal carboxylate structures intramolecularly and/or intermolecularly formed so that the equivalent ratio of the carboxyl groups in the base resin (a) of the acid value of 10-300 mg KOH to the divalent metal may be 0.1-5.
