PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for winding up with a wire in order to fix a material onto a rotating drum which is prevented from occurring looseness or unevenness of winding in a short working time without a specified machine or equipment. SOLUTION: With the usage of driving force of the rotating drum 1, the wire 6 can be wound up with a predetermined pitch under a predetermined tension, and the material to be fixed is wound onto the rotating drum with the wire 6 by the rotating force of the rotating drum engaged with a spindle 2 to be driven. Winding start tip part processing is conducted on an end of the rotating drum, and winding end tip part processing is conducted at the other end. This wire winding up method and the device thereof is provided with the rotating drum engaged with the spindle to be driven, a filter wound around the rotating drum with the wire, a traveling base part 4 screwed by a feed shaft 5 installed in parallel to the spindle for varying a winding position by adjusting the tension of the wire and traveling, and a transmission device 9 for changing a traveling pitch of the traveling base part by engaging the spindle with the feed shaft.
