摘要 An optical procedure and system for aligning and connecting a light carrying laser beam to an optical fiber. The laser beam may be from a diode laser or exiting from another optical fiber. The system defines eight degrees of freedom that need to be addressed to efficiently achieved alignment. The system achieves optical leverage so that assembly tolerances are relaxed but still achieve the necessary fine tolerances an wherein the adjustments are carried out in one dimension, with the optical elements on a flat surface thereby making the system more amenable to automatic computer controlled adjustments.
