A hot cup apparatus (10) including a locking device (42, 43) for locking a hot cup (50) into the hot cup apparatus (10), and comprising a mounting bracket (20) for being mounted to a support surface. The mounting bracket (20) includes a mechanical interface for receiving and holding the hot cup (50) in a stationary position adjacent the mounting bracket (20). A glide block (31, 32) is mounted on said mounting bracket (20) and extends outwardly therefrom in partially-surrounding relation to the hot cup (50). The glide block includes a space (36) for receiving an arcuate retaining lever (40) mounted for movement between a removal position wherein the retaining lever (40) is retracted into the space (36) in the glide block sufficiently to allow the hot cup (50) to be positioned into and removed from the position adjacent the mounting bracket (20), and a retention position wherein the retaining lever (40) is extended around the hot cup (50) sufficiently to retain the hot cup (50) in the position adjacent the mounting bracket (20). A mechanical locking device (42, 43) cooperates with the glide block (31, 32) and the retaining lever (40) for locking the lever (40) into the removal position and the retention position when the retaining lever (40) is positioned in the removal and retention positions, respectively.
