Upper part of spike head 2 is ground, and spike body 1 is cylindrical, made integral, within the limits of rail baseplate thickness, with flange 3 for fitting the latter under rail foot 5 to thrust upper canted plane of flange 3 against foot. Width of flange in plan is 3/4 of diameter of body 1 and length is equal to overhang of spike head 2 towards rail 5. EFFECT: improved fastening of rail foot on baseplate. 4 dwg
