The present invention relates to the cDNAs of two interactors (FANCIP4 and FANCIP5) of the Fanconi anaemia protein of the complementation groups A and C (FANCA and FANCC) and the corresponding encoded polypeptides and proteins. The invention also relates to the corresponding genes, antibodies directed against the proteins, FANCIP4- or FANCIP5-transgenic organisms and cells as well as to the use of FANCIP4 or FANCIP5 for effector screening. The invention further relates to the pharmaceutical use of the inventive nucleic acids, polypeptides, proteins and antibodies.
