摘要 PURPOSE: A ceramic chip device having a glass coating layer is provided to maintain a high initial insulation resistance valve by excluding an effect of flux, and to eliminate a bridge phenomenon by protecting the surface of a chip varistor from plating liquid. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of conductive pattern layers are stacked in a ceramic body(13), separated from each other. Both end portions alternatively protrude in both side directions to form the first and second inner electrodes(14a,14b) of a varistor chip. A pair of the first outer electrodes(15,16) respectively surround both ends of the varistor chip so that the first outer electrodes are electrically connected to the first and second inner electrodes. The glass coating layer(12) made of a material having excellent acid resistance is formed on the ceramic body so that corrosion of the surface of the ceramic body caused by flux is intercepted in a soldering process to maintain initial insulation resistance.
