The sound-damping panel has a filling of sound-absorbing material (3) and a flat sealed cover. A stabilized metal foil (2) or very thin stabilized metal plate without mechanical pre-stressing is fitted on the gas side of the absorption material at wide spacing in point or line form. The foil or plate may be rigidly deformed.
