A process for producing pipes, especially heating pipes, composed of vinyl silane cross linked polyolefins, comprises incorporating a silane group followed by hydrolysis. A process for producing pipes, especially heating pipes, composed of vinyl silane cross linked polyolefins, comprises incorporating a silane group followed by hydrolysis. The cross linking reaction is carried out after pipe assembly, e.g. using water. A profiling tool is used to produce the complete pipe system, which consists of a medium pipe, spacer pipe and insulation or mantle pipe. The complete system is produced in one work stage. The spacers are in the form of ribs, and the space between the medium pipe and mantle pipe is foamed.
