<p>The in-situ biodegradation of chlorinated hydrocarbons in the ground or standing water comprises injecting biomass or culture solution obtained by cultivating soluble methane mono-oxygenase positive microorganisms of the strain methylocystis sp. GB14, deposit number DSM 12955; simultaneously distributing; and carrying out biodegradation at the lowest temperature of 12 deg C and a pH of 6.5-7.5 while continuously adding nutrient and an air/methane mixture. Preferred Features: The air/methane mixture contains 1.5-4.5, preferably 2-4 volume %. Cultivation of the soluble methane mono-oxygenase positive microorganisms is carried out with a copper-free nutrient salt medium containing nitrate as the nitrogen source and nutrient salts essential for the growth. The air/methane mixture is introduced in the gaseous state or using a saturated nutrient solution.</p> |
