<p>A rule (10) for use in conjunction with a cutting die (30) and adapted to be received within an elongated slit (36) formed in a die board (34). The rule (10) includes an upper edge (14) and a lower edge (12), and a main body (16) extending between the lower and upper edges (12, 14). A series of notches (20) are generally uniformly formed and spaced about a lower portion of the rule (10) such that the respective notches (20) effectively extend through the lower edge (12) of the rule (10) and are open along the lower edge (12) of the rule (10). The series or group of notches (20) function to facilitate the curving of the rule (10) and further function to bridge certain uncut sections (38) of the die board (34) that exist within one or more slits (36) formed in the die board (34).</p> |
