The system has a two-part housing with individual intake channels, each with an adjusting device to alter effective channel length. The devices are formed by link bands (12) , which are supported on axial channel wall sections via guide elements. The link bands consist of plates, hinged together and moveable at right angles to the direction of movement. The guide elements are balls, located in the side walls of the plates, which roll off the wall sections. The link bands are driven via toothed gears (13).
