Ozone gas is introduced into the water flow, ahead of the first extraction point (3). An Independent claim is included for the corresponding plant destroying or inactivating Legionella. The side stream is pumped (15), raising it to a higher pressure for the introduction. A static mixer (18) is employed. Excess gas is extracted (20) from the reactor.
