PURPOSE: An automatic TV ON/OFF system is provided to automatically turn on TV to alarm rapidly when disaster happens. CONSTITUTION: Control signals for controlling TV, caption, text and data signals are encoded by an encoder and loaded on video and audio signals of a main carrier or video, audio, data and other signals to be transmitted. The transmitted signals are decoded by a decoder included in or externally attached to TV/VCR to confirm TV ON/OFF state, turn on/off TV, vary a TV tuning number, control volume and provide information. A single decoder has an automatic TV ON/OFF function, a V-CHIP function, a language decoding function, one-click reservation function and information transmission function.
