SUBSTANCE: in process of realization of proposed procedure picture of large tracts of forest is generated, function I(x, y) of picture brightness is converted to digital matrix of discrete readings with element dimensionality |m.n|, numerical characteristics of matrix and envelope of spatial spectrum are computed, evaluation parameters are calculated by statistical dependencies between numerical characteristics of matrix and element of plantation. Procedure makes it feasible to compute evaluation of some independent elements of plantation by several independent indications of picture. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and stability of results of evaluation of estimated parameters. 7 dwg, 1 tbl
